On the occasion of the 68th Independence Day, celebrations were held at Pelling Senior Secondary School. Key highlight of the celebrations was the kick off football tournament. Shiga Energy Pvt. Ltd actively supported the District Independence Day celebration committee, West Sikkim to organize the same. Shiga Energy Pvt. Ltd also sponsored token prizes distributed during the celebrations.

Independence Day celebrations were held in Jorethang on 15th August, 2014. During the celebrations football tournament and many cultural events were held, in which local schools participated enthusiastically. Among other dignitaries, the celebrations were attended by Area MLA and Minister (Health) Shri A.K Ghatani. DANS Energy played a major role in organizing the event.
